Holiday STEAM Night for Students Pre-K through 8^th grade (with the option for families to drop off or stay for the fun!)

Please join us Wednesday, December 14^th from 5-7 p.m. in the Eastgate Elementary Gymnasium for an evening filled with STEAM activities (details below!)! $40 registration fee includes dinner and take-home souvenirs. Event Details:

Students will rotate through the following 6 exciting stations:

·       Chemistry! Students will grow a polymer called sodium polyacrylate in their hands (also known as instant snow) and will get to dye their snow holiday colors of their choice!

·       Engineering! Students will build Santa’s sleigh and race them to the finish line!

·       Robotics! Students will have a chance to drive Newport High School’s award-winning robot (which will be in a “costume” for the holidays!!!)

·       Rocketry! Students will make straw rockets and decorate them before launching!

·       Art! Students will learn the science behind WHY shrinky dinks shrink as they make their own holiday-themed keychain or ornament!

·       Dinner & Cookie Decorating! Students will be provided with pizza, applesauce, carrot sticks and dip, a water bottle, and have the opportunity to decorate their own gingerbread cookie!

There will also be a holiday photo booth with fun props—students will get to take home a Polaroid that night!
