Art by American Academy of Fine Arts
American Academy of Fine Arts provides basic sculpting skill classes for K-5 students at Medina Elementary school. Sculpture, a 3D art, lives in the world with us, sharing space in our 3D experience. Clay Figurine
The course will take you through the entire process of sculpting a figurine to a very high finish, with an emphasis on getting the anatomical structure correct at the beginning. This is key to achieving a likeness. We will show you how to train your eye to see objectively, so you can learn to trust your own judgment. Student artists will be introduced to the principles of sculpture and techniques for construction. We will look at a wide variety of sculptures both for reference and inspiration.
